Marco Picone Ph.D.

Currently I am Assistant Professor (RTD-B) in the Distributed and Pervasive Intelligence (DIPI) Group at the Department of Sciences and Methods for Engineering (DISMI) of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

I received the Ph.D. in Information Technology and the M.Sc. (cum Laude) in Computer Engineering from the University of Parma (Italy) and I have also been Postdoctoral Research Associate at the same University from 2012 and 2015. During 2011 I was visitor student researcher in the NetOS group at the Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge (UK).

I Received the national qualification for Associate Professor from the Italian Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) in November 2020 (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale II Fascia, Settore 09/H1).

My research interests include Distributed Systems, Internet of Things, Edge Computing, Digital Twins, Pervasive and Mobile Computing.
